Google deeply wishes Jules Verne happy birthday

Google Doodle — a redesigned version of the Google home page logo — is the highest birthday honor the search engine can bestow, and today it goes to Jules Verne. In fact, the father of science fiction's 183rd birthday is being marked with one of the most interactive and elaborate Google Doodles yet.

It's not only delightfully whimsical and beautifully designed, but it also has a little secret: It lets you navigate down 20,000 leagues under the sea. All you have to do is drag a lever with your mouse, tap your arrow keys, or  — if you're viewing the site on an iPad, iPhone, or a laptop with a built-in accelerometer —  tilt the screen.

Fun, isn't it? Just watch out for that giant squid!
