Apple releases iOS 5.0.1, includes iPhone battery fix
Apple
As promised, Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 — an update to its iOS 5 mobile operating system, released Oct. 12. This update includes a potential fix for bugs affecting iPhone battery life, adds multitasking gestures to the first-generation iPad and resolves some miscellaneous issues.
The update is compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and iPad 2, as well as third- and fourth-generation iPod Touch devices.
If you're ready to install iOS 5.0.1 on your iOS device, then connect the gadget to iTunes and hit the "check for updates" button. (Alternatively, head into your device's "Settings" menu, select the "General" tab, and tap the "Software Updates" option to download the update over-the-air.)
